SCHOOL EXCURSIONS

Full Day - Suitable for S.O.S.E. Years 4 - 8.

 
A new and exciting Education Program has been developed by our Experienced Tour Guides for St. Helena Island will make this the ideal School Excursion by taking the drudgery out of History and aims to ensure that Student's and Teacher's step back in time and appreciate Queensland's penal past.
 
Students participate by using  Character Identification Cards and Role-Play to Observe, Question, Investigate and problem solve.

TEACHERS PLEASE NOTE:  Our guides work between the (2) Charter Boats who have permits to the Island.   Charter boat operators set the cost which includes boat fare, National Park entry fees and guided tour.  If booking directly with charter boats please request our guides  FOR THIS PROGRAM ONLY .

NO EXTRA COST IS INVOLVED BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM.

 
Students:
From Manly approximately $ 18.00 per student. Teachers F.O.C. (30 students)
* A ½ hour boat ride from William Gunn Jetty, Manly across to St. Helena gives Students the opportunity to see Queensland's unique Marine Park up close.  A chance for spotting Sea Eagles, Dolphins, Turtles or possible an elusive Dugong.
 
Hamilton & Redcliffe $ 20.00 per student.
* A 1½ hour boat trip from Hamilton to St. Helena, gives the Students the opportunity to see the changing land use patterns of our Riverbanks from Residential to Parks, Fort Lytton, Industrial usage to the Port facilities at the mouth of the Brisbane River and continue your trip into Moreton Bay Marine Park across to the Island.

* A 1½ hour boat trip from Redcliffe gives Students the opportunity to re-trace Captain Cook and Matthew Flinders journey across the Marine Park to St. Helena Island

Parents welcome ½ Adult full fare. (Approx $ 25.00 each)
